Sony updated its smart watch Tuesday, introducing the Sony SmartWatch 2 at Shanghai's Mobile Asia Expo.

Designed to be used as a second screen for your Android smartphone, the water-resistant smart watch has NFC (near-field communication) connectivity, and can be personalized with apps based on how you want to use it.

Earlier this month Samsung and AT&T officially announced a new, ruggedized version of theGalaxy S4, dubbed the Galaxy S4 Active.

The spec differences between the Galaxy S4 Active and the standard Galaxy S4 (which I dubbed the best Android phone ever) are minute. Rather than the S4's Super AMOLED screen, the Galaxy S4 Active uses a regular LCD screen. The resolution is still the same at 1920 x 1080, however.

The other internal change is that the camera is 8-megapixel rather than 13. The 8-megapixel camera does have a special aqua mode, however, for underwater photography.

The ATIV Q is a hybrid in more than one sense of the word. Not only does it run Windows 8 and Android side-by-side, it also acts as both a normal tablet and an Ultrabook. Dubbed a "tablet with the power of a PC", Samsung claims that the ATIV Tab 3 is the world's thinnest Windows 8 tablet. It shares design elements with the Samsung Galaxy series of smartphones and tablets (maybe that's why it gets the "Tab" branding?) and is only 8.2mm thick and it weighs just 1.2lbs.

This means you can use your PC keyboard to send messages on a mobile device, view maps on the larger screen of the tablet and move videos from one device to another.

Chinese electronics manufacturer Huawei billed its new Ascend P6 model as the "world's slimmest smartphone," during an unveiling event in London on Tuesday.

Earlier this year, Huawei launched its Ascend P2 phone, which at the time the company called the "world's fastest smartphone."

The new Ascend P6 features a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, a 4.7-inch HD display, a 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean,according to Huawei. The phone also boasts "Magic Touch" technology that lets users use the touchscreen even with gloves on.

Compared to the P2, the P6 wins for its smaller size. But the P2 actually has a beefier 13-megapixel rear camera. Despite the Ascend P6's skinny depth, its approximate weight of 120 grams is nothing to brag about: The iPhone 5 weighs in at just 112 grams.

The metallic-looking phone will be available in black, white or pink. Right now, Huawei says its new flagship phone will ship in China this month, Western Europe in July and to other markets at a later date.
